Why Choose Focused?

Professional athletes will tell you that their best performances follow their best preparations. So much of competition comes down to who is best conditioned, most mentally tough and prepared for the moments that will decide the outcome of a game. Focused was created to help youth athletes get prepared for their performances ahead. As a physical therapist, I’ve seen what poor or no preparations have done to kids. In 2024 alone, I’ve seen at least 2 dozen young athletes from the Wilson Co. area that were injured and missing time in the sport they love because of injury. In all but maybe 2 of these cases, they were preventable. The commonality- body control, strength, stability. Most of the kids I see on the rehab side- can’t do a proper lunge, squat, rotate their trunk. Baseball Pitching is a lunge based movement- if a kid can’t lunge- why are we asking him to pitch?

Pediatric experts at Mayo Clinic, Stanford Children’s and many more all agree that strength and conditioning can start as young as 7 years old with 2 caveats- expert supervision and proper form/education of why.

Focused offseason trainings are supervised by a movement expert with 15 years of orthopedic experience- so it’s safe for your kids. We use functional movements the base movements of our bodies, think squats, lunges, reaching, twisting, balance to help sharpen key movement patterns of competition.

Your kid will come out of Focused trainings faster, quicker, more stable. Your kid will come out of Focused trainings with a better fielding form, better running form, better rotation in their swing, and a better base to throw a ball.
